Every time I openly criticize Islam,
Islamic beliefs, Islamic jurisprudence, the Quran, the Hadiths and everything
that is Islamic, I am slurred as a Racist and an Islamophobe.
Muslims societies usually rely on threat of
violence to suppress both intellectual critique of Islam and the freedom of
other religion to fairly compete, which would be a slow death. Advocates in the West cling to the race card.
If they can paint any criticism of their religion as "racism" then
the massive evidence against Islam can be dismissed out of hand without having
to contend with it.
Unlike Infidelophobia (Quranically-inspired hatred and fear of non-Muslims - see Sura An-Nisa 4:101), Islamophobia rarely involves dead bodies.
First of, Islam is NOT a race. Islam has nothing at all to do with genetics,
nor is it an innate characteristic. It
is an ideology – a set of beliefs about individual behavior and the rules of
society. Hence, criticizing Islam is not
racism. There is no such thing as
"anti-Muslim racism" any more than there is "anti-Christian
racism," "anti-Liberal racism,"”anti-PC racism,” or
"anti-Capitalist racism."
So why would anyone claim differently? People generally choose their beliefs; they
do not choose their race. Therefore Muslims
are not a race of people. In fact, there
are Muslims of all races. Does a person
change their race by adopting or leaving Islam?
It is because the battle over
Islam is being fought in the West, the only arena in which it can still be
critically debated. It is also here that
repugnance toward racism is strong and nearly universal. From politics to illegal immigration, fear of
the race card is one of the strongest influences on public policy.
At the same time, it is nearly impossible to
defend Islam on its own merits in the West in free and open debate. According to its own texts, the religion was
founded in terror. Its political and
social code is deeply incompatible with liberal values.
Slinging the worst of all slurs to compensate
for deficiency of fact and logic is weak enough, but it is ironic given that
what is being defended in such cheap fashion is an ideology that is overtly
supremacist in nature. In fact, those
Muslims who do want to rely on the race card are not thinking too far ahead.
And then I’m labeled as an
Islamophobe. So, let’s look at what
“Islamophobe” really means.
In my dictionary, Islamophobe is
a non-Muslim who knows more than they are supposed to know about Islam.
Islamophobia is an allegedly irrational fear of losing life or liberty to
Islamic rule merely because the laws, sacred texts, and traditional practices
of Islam demand the submission of culture, politics, religion and all social
expression. It tends to afflict those
most familiar with the religion while sparing the more gullible.
Unlike Infidelophobia (Quranically-inspired hatred and fear of non-Muslims - see Sura An-Nisa 4:101), Islamophobia rarely involves dead bodies.
The word "Islamophobia"
literally means a fear of Islam, which is odd since Allah himself "throws
terror into the hearts of disbelievers" (Sura Al-Anfal 8:12).
In contemporary use, it means any hint or suspicion that Islam is
different from other religions.
Islamophobes include:
Hindus, Christians, and Jews who don’t want to be forced into a political system that treats them as third-class citizens. (Islamic teaching)
Atheists who want the freedom to live openly and challenge religious orthodoxy in the public sphere. (Islamic teaching)
Women who don’t want to be draped in black bags. (Islamic teaching)
Heterosexual males who prefer not to see women draped in black bags. (Islamic teaching)
Wives who don't want to be beaten (Islamic teaching)
Drinkers (this one's important). (Islamic teaching)
Artists. (Islamic teaching)
Historians who don’t want to see priceless manuscripts and books burned just because they disagree with the Quran.
Homosexuals who don’t want to be beaten to death. (Islamic teaching)
Anyone else who believes that consenting adults should not be killed or tortured over sexual practices. (Islamic teaching)
Dog lovers. (Islamic teaching).
Animal Rights activists and anyone else who is opposed to the cruel and unethical treatment of animals. (Islamic teaching)
Mothers who don’t want their daughters killed over a man’s “honor.” (Islamic teaching)
Intellectuals who value freedom of conscience and public dissent. (Islamic teaching)
Anyone believing that the value of a person's life is not determined by their religious beliefs. (Islamic teaching)
Feminists who believe that women should not be made subordinate to men by a religion which openly insists that females are the intellectual and legal inferior of males. (Islamic teaching)
Anyone else who objects to a religion in which a woman’s identity is defined by her relationship to a man. (Islamic teaching)
Secularists who believe in the separation of government and religion. (Islamic teaching)
The left-handed (Islamic teaching).
Liberals who don’t believe that culture and moral values should be established by a state-sponsored religion. (Get past the Religion Barrier)
Liberals who believe in preserving the Western heritage responsible for the civil freedom, political liberty and economic success which has attracted the flood of immigrants from Muslim nations, where such values are conspicuously lacking. (Islamic teaching)
Muslims who would like the freedom to leave Islam. (Islamic teaching)
So, if Muslims are a race because
of Islam, then it means that Islam is a racial ideology. Therefore, what this
ideology has to say about its own and other “races” becomes very important.
If Islam is a race, then
Christianity and Judaism are races as well, meaning that if the Quran speaks of
them as inferior, then it is a racist book.
In truth, the Quran does more than that.
In a stunning burst of religious bigotry, Muslims are ordered to fight
Jews and Christians "until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission,
and feel themselves subdued" (Sura At-Tawbah 9:29). There is no basis in the text for bringing
Jew and Christians under the heel of Islamic rule except by virtue of their
religious status.
No other religion filters
perception through group identity to the extent that Islam does. Around the world Christians, Jews and other
individuals are routinely brutalized merely because they are a member of a
non-Muslim group, not because they have done anything to personally deserve
having their lives taken, their children maimed or their property torched. Meanwhile, other Muslims are generally
indifferent to this violence and reserve their true outrage for circumstances
involving Muslim victims of non-Muslim acts, however unintentional or
relatively slight.
So, if Muslims are a race, Islam would not
only be a racist ideology, but arguably the most hateful and destructive in
history.
The reality is, there's a problem
with Islam. Whether or not Islam is inherently a violent religion is up to the
Imams' and their followers' interpretation of Islam (it's not up to the
Liberals), but ultimately there are enough people with extremist views of Islam
to create dozens of Islamic theocracies and to staff whole armies to make war
on infidels. The crux of our position is that so-called moderate Muslims have
been silent for too long. Mosques, Muslim foreign national leaders, Imams, etc.,
need to lead the charge in denouncing and de-funding these extremists and in
ending persecution against non-Muslim religious minorities, gays, women, and
Jews. Until I see Muslim people in the streets protesting terrorism, ISIS,
Hamas, etc., I--we--will continue to criticize Islam for the savagery it
endorses.
